Bio

Vladimir Babinchuk (b. 2001, France) is a Brussels-based choreographer, performer and visual artist of Ukrainian–Portuguese heritage.

His practice works with the activation of neglected archives, including material connected to his own diasporic histories. Bodies, images, text and technical devices become ways of reorganising existing documents and the relationships they produce.

With Eleni Roberts Kazouri, he develops DARKWAVES (2025–) and created STRIKE (2026). DARKWAVES premiered at MIRfestival in Athens on 21 November 2025 and was a finalist for the Roel Verniers Prize in 2025. STRIKE was developed in the context of the LIVE WORKS fellowship 2025–2026 at Centrale Fies.

He studied dance at the Conservatory of Paris, graduated from P.A.R.T.S. with a BA in Dance in 2022, and completed an MFA in Fine Arts in the socio-political context at Sint-Lucas Antwerpen in 2026. His current research includes EARSHOTS, an archival polyphonic concert in an early stage of development, with intended realisation in 2027.
