STRIKE

2026 · Choreographic performance

STRIKE departs from the echo of a fight.

Three performers, one phone, two movable platforms. A low-resolution video from Exarcheia, Athens, December 2008, stays at the size of a hand. Filmed in the minutes after a shot, it holds bodies still gathering, moving and reacting.

The image is carried and consulted rather than projected. It becomes a small point around which attention reorganises. Three bodies attempt the logic of a crowd through coordination, fatigue, failed surges and regrouping.

Approximately 30 minutes · original 2026 version; 45 minutes · extended 2027 version

Original premiere: 19 July 2026 · extended-version premiere: 13 March 2027

A street, held in one hand

The source footage and the performance documentation occupy different places in the work. The archival image remains on the phone. The photographs here document what the performers do around it, and the space they share with an audience.

Developed in Sala Comando at Centrale Fies, the performance turns a long concrete hall into a channel between two banks of spectators. Platforms become ground, obstacle, monument and vehicle. Bodies travel, stop, accumulate and wait.

States rather than steps

The movement score works through charged stillness, momentum that builds and fails, and postures that assemble into images and dissolve. Rage enters as rhythm and pressure: tempo, weight, distance, when bodies hold, when they release, how long they wait.

The original version premiered on 19 July 2026 at the LIVE WORKS Summit, Centrale Fies. A reworked, extended 45-minute version premieres on 13 March 2027 at AFTERSCHOOL Festival, La Ménagerie de Verre, Paris, with a further presentation on 17 March 2027.
